Holy Grit’s A Hell Of A Challenge
Holywell Bay’s beach usually provides the perfect backdrop for a scenic dog walk or an embrace between Ross and Demelza, however, for one weekend in October it is setting some people a hell of a challenge. Find out below how client Trevornick are taking part in the coastal obstacle course.
Cornwall’s ultimate coastal obstacle course is inviting participants to enjoy the grittiest weekend of their lives 6 – 7th October.
Now in its third year ‘Holy Grit’, based at Trevornick near Newquay features leg-destroying sand dunes, towering sea cliffs and more than 30 challenging obstacles.
Competitors can choose from 6km, 12km, 24km and 36km courses all designed to push them to their mental and physical limits.
There are also special courses for kids, onsite camping, an epic after party and loads of other great activities to enjoy throughout the weekend.
New elements for this year include Endless Grit – a 36km race option for the ultimate endurance athlete with all finishers becoming Grit Legends, complete with photo and bio on the Holy Grit website, a new 3km race option for older kids (ages 9-15), new obstacles provided by new partners, BATM Scaffolding and the British Army.
The event village is also bigger and better than last year’s with even more bouncy castles, food trucks and British Army Recruitment will also be bringing a few surprises to keep spectators entertained.
With signature obstacles like Hydra, Cerberus, Four Horsemen, River Styx, Leap of Faith and Devil’s Drop inspired by legends of Hell, Holy Grit is not for the fainthearted but everyone who successfully completes the course can officially claim the title ‘God of Grit’.
Last year’s event attracted more than 500 competitors and organisers are expecting this year’s race to be just as popular.
Competitors will receive a free finisher T-shirt and medal. There are discounts available online for advance bookings and group entries plus great value camping packages which include a free pint and entry to the event after-party.
