Visitor attractions consultancy, Flamingo Marketing has welcomed three new recruits to its talented team of PR and Marketing specialists.
Flamingo specialise in marketing and PR for the leisure and tourism industry with a varied client base which includes iconic heritage attractions like Blenheim Palace and Leeds Castle to theme parks, wildlife collections, luxury hotels and major outdoor events like Kynren – the UKs biggest live outdoor theatrical performance and a series of festive illuminated trails for Raymond Gubbay Ltd.
Experienced marketer Nadia Pendleton and journalist Matt Dixon joined the company ahead of the busy summer 2021 season alongside PR Executive Ollie Young, who recently started at the consultancy after also beginning his career in journalism.
Qualified in Public and Media Relations, Nadia has been working at the highest levels of hospitality, travel and tourism for over 20 years. She is half Italian, has lived and worked in Amsterdam, Milan, Paris and Hong Kong and speaks three languages fluently. Her previous experience includes working for two leading PR and Comms agencies in London before joining Gordon Ramsay Holdings organising private events and acting as duty manager across the group.
“I have always loved working within the attraction industry and really relish the excitement of working with such a diverse and interesting range of clients,” said Nadia
Matt Dixon has more than 20 years’ experience as a journalist, working for leading titles across the county.
“The principles of writing accurate, engaging copy are the same for PR as they are in journalism, but the enjoyable challenge of promoting and supporting our fantastic clients brings a whole new dimension to the working week,” he said.
Ollie joins Matt and Drew Cunliffe on the PR team, working hard to ensure Flamingo delivers high quality coverage to all its clients.
He added: “I am delighted to be here and have already been so impressed with how the team works so hard for its clients. I can’t wait to add my creativity and flair to continue delivering great results at all levels.”
Nikki Smith, Managing Director said she is thrilled at the way the business is growing and diversifying across such a wide range of clients.
“When I started Flamingo back in 2009, my goal was to offer experienced hands on support for visitor attraction marketing from a team that really understands the business. The three new members of the team will help us to continue doing that for our ever-increasing client base and add a great amount of real-life experience of the types of positive stories that help make the news.”
