11Arches to Give Away 1,000 Tickets for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Performance
11Arches is donating 1,000 tickets to deserving local groups in the North East for a spectacular Platinum Jubilee performance of Kynren at 11Arches Park, Bishop Auckland, in June.
The tickets are being given away on behalf of every member of its 1,000-strong cast and crew, with the first 400 set aside for the three local Emergency Services (police, fire and ambulance) and the NHS, as a thank you for their heroic efforts during the pandemic.
The remaining 600 tickets will be made available to local community groups and good causes – and the registered charity is inviting people to get in touch to apply for places.
“Our charity focuses on community development and on this historic celebration weekend, we want to offer the opportunity to enjoy the unique Kynren experience to special groups and members of our community,” said Anne-Isabelle Daulon, CEO and Co-Founder of 11Arches.
Anyone who would like to nominate a group, charity or good causes for tickets to Kynren should email info@11arches.org.
Kynren – An Epic Tale of England Jubilee Special will be performed on Friday, June 3, as part of the weekend celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne. The main run of shows will take place every Saturday from 6th August to 10th September.
The multi-award-winning show delights and dazzles the senses, as the past 2,000 years are brought to vivid life on an enormous scale.
From the fog of war and the noise of battle to the heat of industry; from Romans to Victorians and the lavish pomp and pageantry of royal ceremony, to thrilling choreography, amazing stunts, equestrianism, water jets, special effects and pyrotechnics – Kynren is a truly breath-taking experience.
There is a total of 29 dramatic scenes as Kynren takes audiences on an action-packed, emotional journey through time. Each one is enhanced by an original soundtrack from award-winning composer Nathan Stornetta.
Gates open at 6.45pm ahead of the live show at 9.15pm allowing visitors the opportunity to arrive early for food and drink in one of the dining areas.
The weekend of celebration continues on Saturday, June 4th at 11Arches Park, with Fina and the Platinum Street Party.
The adrenaline-filled equine show will be returning for a one-off Jubilee-themed performance.
Heroes and villains, drama and laughter combine with the UK’s richest range of horse-skills in one show – jousting, trick-riding, vaulting and chariot-racing combine to have you up on your feet, eyes glued to the stage.
The main characters are voiced by the familiar and well-loved actors Hugh Bonneville (Hephy), Rory Kinnear (Marek), Ben Miller (Brom), Annabel Scholey (Fina) and Katy Carmichael (Sabine).
After the show, immerse yourself in the ultimate celebration evening with a live band, a live broadcast of the Platinum Jubilee Concert with open air dance floor, themed bars, entertainment and a giant street party, all set in the shadow of the Tribune and landscaped grounds around the lake.
With capacity for 2,500, it is set to be among the largest jubilee street parties in the country.
At 9.30pm the evening will culminate with a final show, to include celebratory fireworks to mark the Queen’s record-breaking 70-year reign.
